Most states have raised their issues and have suggested that the lockdown be extended to contain the spread of the virus. Sources told CNBC-TV18 that the Assam government has suggested the lockdown to be extended for 2 more weeks. UP CM Yogi Adityanath has also requested that the lockdown be extended to contain the spread of the virus.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh raised the need to test and test extensively in the videoconference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 11.
